The Philadelphia 76ers have attempted to engage the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers in talks on a potential three-way trade that would send James Harden to the Clippers and Jrue Holiday to the Sixers, according to NBA insider Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports. However, those talks did not have much traction as of Friday afternoon.
The Sixers want to acquire Holiday from the Blazers, while Harden has requested a trade to the Clippers. Several NBA contenders are interested in trading for Holiday, who was traded by the Milwaukee Bucks to the Blazers in the blockbuster Damian Lillard deal. Portland is expected to trade Holiday before media day.
Holiday played in 67 games for the Bucks in 2022-23. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists. The NBA champion signed a four-year, $135 million extension with Milwaukee in April 2021.

Holiday began his NBA career with the Sixers. The Miami Heat, Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Sixers are teams that appeal to Holiday, according to NBA insiders Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.
The Sixers agreed to search out a trade upon Harden’s request after the future Hall of Famer picked up his $35.6 million player option for next season in June. However, Philadelphia’s asking price for Harden was steep and no teams were willing or able to meet it.
In 58 games for the Sixers last season, Harden averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists. He led the NBA in assists per game for the second time in his career.
