It is no secret that every NBA fan loves a star-studded backcourt. Do you think this is the best way to build a contender? Not always.

It is common for the NBA champion to have an elite frontcourt. The thing about a backcourt is that there is something special about it, isn’t there? 

It is exciting to watch guard play. Additionally, a backcourt is a partnership between two players. As much as anything else, a pair of great guards can galvanize a fan base more than anything else. 

Do the Atlanta Hawks have their backcourt in place? It’s hard to say for sure. In the upcoming season of 2022-23, both Trae Young and Dejounte Murray are highly talented players, but there appears to be some question as to how well they mesh. 

The Hawks did commit to Murray staying around for the foreseeable future. However, when looking beyond the surface, there is also a path to him being more viable as a trade candidate.
