The Utah Jazz had one of the busiest offseasons in the history of the NBA last summer. In exchange for Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, and a metric ton of draft capital, the team got some young players. 

It seemed as if the direction was obvious. There is no doubt that the Jazz would tank for Victor Wembanyama, right? So far, it hasn’t worked out that way. 

In 2022-23, this team was one of the most competitive teams in the league. There was a breakout season for Lauri Markkanen this year. As a rookie, Walker Kessler was one of the most productive players in the league.

Meanwhile, Will Hardy, the new head coach of the Jazz, implemented an impressive motion offense with the goal of keeping an undermanned Jazz team in the game.

Therefore, the Jazz should pivot in order to succeed. As a team, this is a very good one. It is possible for them to become a great team if they add one of the best offensive guards in the league. 

There is no word yet on whether Damian Lillard will join the Jazz or not.
