It has been reported that Damian Lillard wants to be traded with the Miami Heat ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season after asking the Portland Trail Blazers to move him.

Is there anyone who could blame him for this? The Heat just advanced to the NBA Finals. It is no secret that Lillard has friends on the team. Why wouldn’t he want to take his talents to South Beach? 

In spite of this, the Portland Trail Blazers are under no obligation to send him to the team. This contract does not contain a no-trade clause.

This means that the Blazers are free to send Lillard to the team that offers them the best deal. It is possible that the Heat will be the ones to do that.
