Why The Houston Rockets Do The Deal

There is no need for the Houston Rockets to be concerned about their cap flexibility. There isn’t a team in the NBA that has more space than them.

It is expected that they will use it this summer. In the past few weeks, the Rockets have been linked to free agents such as Fred VanVleet, Brook Lopez, and Dillon Brooks. In the event that they miss out on all of them, what would they do?

It will still be necessary for them to hit the cap floor. There is a possibility that the Rockets may have to trade for some larger contracts if they are not able to attract premier free agents this summer.

With Lowry’s contract expiring in one year, they can kick the can down the road in terms of cap space for one year because Lowry’s deal is expiring.
