Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal
There is no doubt about it: Tate feels like a Miami Heat player to me. In some respects, this guy embodies Heat culture.
Tate was undrafted. It was the Rockets who plucked him out of Australia, and he earned his spot on the team. His playing style is energetic and determined, and he has an impact on the game with his undersized frame.
This is exactly the type of player the Heat tend to target when they are looking for a new player. This team would benefit greatly from having Tate as a rotational wing.
There is no doubt that the pairing makes sense. Having said that, this is also a salary dump for Miami as well. Having been able to move Lowry, they would have some flexibility in free agency if they were able to do so.
