Why The Houston Rockets Do The Deal 

It is possible that there will be a salary cap. The floor is also set at a certain level. The Houston Rockets need to hit it this summer. 

The CBA requires them to do so at the start of the season as opposed to having until the very end.In other words, the Rockets have to spend their money in order to succeed.

Therefore, they are expected to pursue some big names such as Fred VanVleet and Brook Lopez in the near future. It will be interesting to see if those rumors come true or not. 

In spite of the Rocket’s cap space, they’re lacking in developmental reps, despite the fact that this team is stacked with promising young players of the future. They’re also set to make four selections in the second round of next year’s draft.

There is no way the Rockets will do that. It is inevitable that some of those picks, if not all, will be traded in the future. Why not package them with Martin to make a significant upgrade at the 3 spot?
