The Atlanta Hawks are in the process of clearing cap space for the 2023-24 NBA season. It is abundantly clear that this is the case. In a recent transaction, this team made a deal with the Utah Jazz to send John Collins to them for pennies on the dollar.

Rudy Gay could retire at any moment, and otherwise, all the Hawks got was a second-round pick. They also got cap relief.
