The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to pursue Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal if the three-time All-Star is put on the trade market, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

The Wizards’ new front-office leaders and Beal have a mutual understanding that they intend to work together to find a trade that would send the three-time All-Star guard to a contender if the team elects to reset the organization this offseason.

Since Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract, he gets to pick the team he gets traded to. The Bucks would certainly be title contenders with Beal, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. However, it’s unknown if Milwaukee has the assets to acquire Beal, who averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 2022-23.

Beal’s contract includes a 15 percent trade bonus. The Florida product has spent his entire career with the Wizards, compiling averages of 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Washington hasn’t advanced past the second round of the playoffs in the Beal era.

The Bucks won the 2021 title over the Phoenix Suns in six games. However, they have struggled in the postseason since then. Milwaukee lost to the Boston Celtics in the 2022 Eastern Conference Semifinals and got bounced by the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 postseason.

Middleton is expected to decline his 2023-24 player option and sign a new contract with the Bucks. Meanwhile, Holiday and Antetokounmpo are already under contract. It’s going to be interesting to see if Milwaukee is able to land Beal, one of the top scorers in the NBA.
