Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal

For the Knicks, this isn’t really about Hartenstein. It’s about Mitchell Robinson.

Apparently, the big man would like a bigger role with the Knicks. Having Hartenstein around makes it difficult for them to do so. At the moment, the Knicks have two starting-caliber bigs.

They ought to pick Robinson. This is one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA. With that in mind, the Knicks should get some value for Hartenstein.

This should be enough value. Bullock’s expiring contract should have some value to New York. Keep in mind, Hartenstein has yet to over 20 minutes per game in a season.
