Why The Detroit Pistons Do The Deal
The Pistons have ample young guards. They’ve got a solid number of young bigs and combo bigs. With that said, they’re lacking young wings.
This summer, that’s likely to change. Most of the prospects projected to be available when the Pistons draft at 5 are wings. In all likelihood, they’ll end up with one of Cam Whitmore or Ausar Thompson.
They could still use wing depth. This deal has them landing two intriguing young wings. Moody is the headliner. He’s a high-feel player who can guard multiple positions, pass, and space the floor.
With that said, if it’s floor spacing the Pistons are after, they’ll love Baldwin. This is a wing with plus positional height and an outstanding jump shot.

Baldwin was once a top NBA prospect – a rebuilding team like the Pistons would do well to bring him on board. If he aligns with their philosophy, of course.
