Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

Well, it sure doesn’t feel like Simmons will crack Brooklyn’s rotation. It feels like this team has already quit on him. 

Moreover, Simmons is not a good fit alongside Nic Claxton. He was a Defensive Player of the Year candidate this season. By now, the Nets ought to invest in the young big man. 

That’s part of the equation here, actually. Claxton will be due for a large pay raise after this season. Generally speaking, this Nets team is about to get prohibitively expensive.
