Deandre Ayton 

This may feel contradictory to some. Wembanyama is a big man. Why would the Spurs acquire another big man? 

Well, allegedly, Wembanyama isn’t looking to play the 5 at the NBA level. It may be that he feels that with his slight frame, he shouldn’t be on the low block wrestling with bruisers.

If so, the Spurs could look for a bruiser of their own. Deandre Ayton would be a good candidate. He’s widely seen as being available.

Somewhere along the line,. his relationship with the Phoenix Suns seems to have broken down. If Ayton is on the trade market, the Spurs should at least make inquiries.

On the other hand, they could be put off by the breakdown of that relationship. If the Spurs are concerned about Ayton’s mentality, they make want to look elsewhere. 

Luckily, he may not be the only big man who’s available this summer.
