Mikal Bridges 

Of course, Mikal Bridges still isn’t an alpha superstar. Still, the Rockets would benefit from acquiring him in several ways. 

Specifically, he’s currently the best player on the Brooklyn Nets. The Rockets control their draft through to 2027. In other words, if the Nets are relying on a rookie for the next few years, it benefits Houston. 

So does having Bridges. This is one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA. Since arriving in Brooklyn, Bridges has flashed the ability to create his own shot as well. He’d be a huge upgrade for this team.

As for Brooklyn, they currently feel like they’re destined for the mediocrity treadmill. This is a way off.

On the other hand, they may refuse to make a trade with the Rockets at their own expense – even for long-term gain. 

If so, the Rockets will have to look elsewhere.
