Well, the Rockets enter this summer with an incredible amount of cap space. In fact, they’ll have the most in the NBA.

With that in mind, they’re expected to be aggressive in free agency. 

They may well be. At the same time, that cap space allows the Rockets to make trades that other teams won’t be able to make. Simply put, they can trade into their cap space.

That should appeal to other teams, too. If a contender has a contract that’s limiting their flexibility, Houston may take them. Their standard will be lower than a team who’s in title contention.
