As a rule, NBA teams try to avoid having a logjam. What do we mean by logjam?
A glut of players at a certain position. Eventually, there will be diminishing returns there – no matter how talented your players are.
For example, look at the Los Angeles Clippers. This team has too many wings. As a result, Robert Covington isn’t even in this team’s rotation.
Do the Boston Celtics have too many guards? It’s hard to say. They’ve managed to work Marcus Smart, Derrick White, and Malcolm Brogdon into their rotation.
With that said, they could make a deal to diversify their rotation.
Could they do so by sending Brogdon to the Clippers?
