There are some similarities between DeRozan and Westbrook. Despite the fact that they are similar, they are not exactly the same.
For starters, DeRozan is a better shooter than Westbrook. On a broader level, he has a better off-ball ability. Although DeRozan may not be a reliable three-point shooter, he is a deadly midrange shooter. He’ll have more gravity when James is on the ball.
Aside from that, he is also generally more capable of making good decisions. There is no doubt that DeRozan and James will be able to make this work because of their combined basketball IQ.
There is no doubt that they are a better pairing than James and Westbrook. It is true that there is a risk involved here. The fit between the two is not perfect.
