Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal
You may be asking yourself a question. If Finney-Smith has been playing so poorly, why would the Cavaliers trade for him?
Well, the Cavaliers are low on assets. They moved a tremendous package in return for Mitchell. They can’t necessarily afford the best 3-and-D wing in the NBA.
Besides, Finney-Smith is a very impactful player when he is connecting from distance. He’s not exactly an elite offensive player on his best day, but, if he can hit threes, he’s a starting-caliber player.
That’s all the Cavaliers would need him to be. If this doesn’t pan out, the Cavs may have to find their missing wing elsewhere.
