Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
Finney-Smith is a complicated player. All told, he probably doesn’t have the trade value that he used to.
After all, he’s been shooting dismally since arriving in Brooklyn. Finney-Smith is supposed to be a 3-and-D wing. If his value only comes on defense, the Nets won’t get a hefty return for him.
Luckily, they’ve already got plenty of 3-and-D wings. As long as the Nets retain Cameron Johnson as a Restricted Free Agent this summer, they’ll be ok with losing Finney-Smith.
Meanwhile, this is a solid return for him. Osman and Rubio could both be decent rotation players for them next season.
