Finney-Smith forged his reputation as an elite 3-and-D wing on the Mavericks. It’s only been during his time with the Nets that his three-point accuracy has plummeted. 

Why would that be? Well, it may be because Finney-Smith is missing Luka Doncic. Without an elite offensive player drawing defensive attention, he’s finding fewer open looks. 

If so, that won’t be an issue in Phoenix. Finney-Smith would be joining a team that features Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

If this is a player who’s built to complement stars, this will be a better situation for him.
