With that said, basketball players don’t strictly earn a reputation on the court. What they do off the floor is also a factor. 

For example, look at Kevin Durant of the Suns. Nobody can question his on-court ability. With that said, he’s developed a reputation for jumping ship in terms of off-court activities. 

When he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, nobody was entirely shocked. Durant doesn’t seem to be the type to stick around when things aren’t going well. 

That’s why this wouldn’t be the first deal these two teams had made recently.
