The NBA has a hierarchy like any other. It’s flexible, but it’s not easy to climb.
There are teams we associate with winning, and teams we associate with losing. Teams in the latter camp are always trying to gain access to the former one.
For example, look at the Golden State Warriors. This was a losing team for the better part of decades. Over the last decade, they’ve become the winningest team in the NBA.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are still trying to get there. Their decision to trade for Rudy Gobert this summer apparently didn’t help their cause.
Could they right the ship by sending Karl-Anthony Towns to the Golden State Warriors this summer?
