Why The Oklahoma City Thunder Do The Deal 

The logic for the Thunder here is obvious. They’re landing one of the best players in the NBA. 

Doncic has his flaws. His defense is questionable. Moreover, his brand of heliocentric playmaking rubs some the wrong way. In fact, some Thunder fans may question his ability to fit with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. 

We wouldn’t worry about it. Having two of the best playmakers in the NBA on one roster is, at worst, a rich person’s problem. if the pairing is absolutely untenable, the Thunder can trade one or the other down the line.

Moreover, we think it would work. We’ve never seen Doncic alongside a playmaker with SGA’s gravity. In all likelihood, his three-point percentage would climb.
