Why The Utah Jazz Do The Deal
In fact, the Jazz are in a generally strange spot. They’re a little too competitive to classify as a rebuilding team, but they certainly aren’t contending.
Their next move is anybody’s guess. The Jazz could package all of their first-rounders for a superstar. On the other hand, they could consider a more incremental approach.
In that event, this team could use a young point guard. They don’t currently have one. If the Magic are making Suggs available, they should consider acquiring him as a replacement for the aging Mike Conley.
Sure, Suggs has struggled during his first two seasons. He’s not great at creating offense in half-court sets, and his shot is subpar. He’s still an outstanding defender with great floor vision.
