Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

We think so. Davis may be the best player in this deal, but it’s only by a narrow margin. By now, it’s fair to say that Markkanen exceeds his offensive output. He’s just not on his level as a defender. 

That’s fine. Any limitations Markannen has in that area should be offset by his reunion with former teammate Jarred Vanderbilt.

That was a great dynamic in Utah – imagine how it ought to look alongside LeBron James. 

Of course, Wiggins is hardly a throw-in here. He’s developed into one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA. This is a two-for-one for the Lakers.
