Why The Houston Rockets Do The Deal
If the Rockets land the rights to select Victor Wembanyama in the upcoming draft, they won’t take this deal.
Let’s assume that they don’t. It’s obvious that this organization is looking to take a step forward next season. They owe their first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder with top-4 protection.
Adding Robinson’s rim protection will help them take that step.
Moreover, the Rockets may or may not need any additional offensive abilities Robinson has. If they end up drafting Brandon Miller, for example, any additional playmaking they can get from Robinson will be a welcomed addition.

On the other hand, suppose they draft Scoot Henderson. Or, suppose that they, as is rumoured, reunite with James Harden. In that event, adding the version of Robinson that we already know to exist would be a great benefit to Houston.
Should the Knicks really part with him?
