Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal 

This one is simple. The Knicks do this deal to finally acquire their star. 

Ingram may not be the guy some Knicks fans had in mind. As talented as he is, he’s not quite on the tier of Durant or Irving.

He’s not even on the same level as Donovan Mitchell, who the Knicks were heavily tied to this summer. 

That’s fine. He’s also just 25. Ingram has plenty of time to improve. On the other hand, the Knicks may not even need him too anyway. 

After all, this team is already highly competitive. The Knicks don’t need to sink the type of resources that it takes to land an A1 star into anyone.
