Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal
For a while, the big question around these Raptors was whether they needed a big man. It seems that they answered that question at the deadline.
After all, the team traded for Jakob Poeltl. That was a sensible acquisition. The Raptors didn’t have a conventional big, and Poeltl is one of the better defensive centers in the NBA.
He’s also not Anthony Davis. In fact, Davis is having quite a comeback season – he’s re-established himself as one of the best two-way big men in the NBA.
Following this deal, the Raptors would be playing jumbo ball. A starting frontcourt of Davis, Pascal Siakam, and Scottie Barnes could simply bully opponents into submission.

Of course, that’s probably what the Wolves were hoping to do this season. Should they give up on their supersized frontcourt already?
