Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal 

As constructed, no – the Bulls don’t have the means to put a quality defense around Gobert. 

That could change. The Bulls would have to replace Williams here, anyway – they’d likely to hunting for a veteran 3-and-D wing in free agency to play the four. 

Either way, that’s not the question here. The Bulls may or may not be able to provide Gobert with help on defense. Adding him would make them a better team regardless. 

This offense would finally be built around Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan following this deal.
