Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal 

There is a possibility that this may depend on the outcome of the draft for the Hornets. 

In reality, that’s true for any team in their position, no matter what they do. There is a chance that this team will be able to grab a top 5 pick and is almost certain to end up in the top 10. Hopefully, they will be able to draft a player who will be a cornerstone of their team. 

As an example, if that player is Cam Whitmore, they may not be interested in Toppin’s services. There would be a certain amount of overlap between the two.

However, if that player is Victor Wembanyama, then they may wish to keep Rozier in the hopes of instantly pivoting toward contending if that was the case.

On the other hand, let’s say they draft Keyonte George instead. There is a possibility that the Hornets will be interested in bolstering the depth of their young core. Is it wise for the Knicks to part with that package in order to acquire him?
