Why The Minnesota Timberwolves Do The Deal
The Timberwolves have had a very underwhelming 2022-23 season. With that said, they’ve looked better since acquiring Mike Conley at the deadline.
If that pattern holds, they may not want to make major deals like this one this summer. On the other hand, if they don’t have a strong finish, they may look at major changes.
Some would have them trading Towns. Perhaps they may. Still, it’s hard to imagine them replacing one of the best offensive big men in NBA history.
Of course, replacing one of the best defensive big men of all time won’t be any easier. Still, having Wiggins at the point of attack will ease the pain.

If they can’t get stops, they’ll just have to outscore opponents.
