Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G/F Andrew Wiggins
Golden State Warriors Receive: C Rudy Gobert
Meanwhile, these two stout defenders have taken very different routes toward NBA stardom.
Wiggins came into the league with a lot of hype. In fact, he was the first overall pick in his draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him and traded him shortly after – ironically, to the Timberwolves.
By contrast, Gobert was an unheralded late first-round selection. Coming into the league, he was widely seen as a career backup. Now, he’s a multiple-time Defensive Player of the Year winner.
With that said, Wiggins was disappointing early in his career. On the other hand, Gobert was a revelation.
