We can all agree that defense is critical in the NBA. The question is, which kind of defense is most important?
Some would argue that perimeter stoppers are the most crucial. To be sure, many of the league’s best teams today feature a platoon of defensive-minded wings.
On the other hand, others would suggest that interior defense is more critical. They’d argue that having an anchor who can clean up any mistakes counts for more than any number of perimeter defenders.
If you fall into the former camp, you’re probably a big fan of Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors.
By contrast, those in the latter group will prefer Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Could the two switch teams this summer?
