Being selected with the first overall pick in the NBA draft comes with expectations.
Every number-one pick doesn’t meet them. Of course, even then, every number one pick doesn’t come with the same expectations.
Some prospects come with an excessive amount of hype.
For example, look at Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans. This kid wasn’t just a number-one pick. He was supposed to change the game of basketball.
Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t quite come with the same expectations. He still held lofty ones.
Could the two former number-one picks team up on the Pelicans this summer?
