Of course, all of these teams were active at the deadline. 

The Pistons’ activity may have been for nothing. In essence, they flipped Saddiq Bey for James Wiseman. Due to Gary Payton III’s failed physical, the whole deal may be vetoed. 

The Spurs and Knicks don’t have the same concerns. San Antonio flipped Jakob Poeltl for a first-round pick: that deal is in no danger of being overturned. 

Neither is the Knicks’ acquisition of Josh Hart. All told, the Pistons’ situation is a unique one. It’s also unfortunate, and no fault of their own.

If the deal is overturned, they’ll still have to face an awkward reunion with Bey.
