The Milwaukee Bucks have joined the NBA Trade Deadline festivities, taking part in a three-team trade with the Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets. The Bucks will be receiving veteran forward Jae Crowder in the deal, who was part of the Kevin Durant blockbuster on Wednesday night.

Crowder wasn’t even with the Nets for a New York minute before he was re-routed to Milwaukee. It will be a homecoming of sorts for Crowder, who played collegiately at Marquette. In exchange for him, the Nets will be receiving an unprecedented five second-round picks.

Jordan Nwora is heading to the Pacers in the deal along with two second-round picks. Since he is coming from Milwaukee, it is safe to assume that means the Bucks are parting with seven second-round picks to get this deal done. Goga Bitadze is being waived to make room for Nwora in Indiana.

For the Bucks, Crowder is worth the price. He gives them another veteran that fits their culture and what they needed on the roster. His playoff experience with 107 games is perfect for this team as he gives them another player to combat the high-end wings in the conference.

While trading away seven second-round picks seems outrageous, not having to part ways with anyone from their rotation to get the deal done is a big deal. They are a deeper, stronger team adding Crowder to the mix without needing to move Grayson Allen or Pat Connaughton.

The motivation for the Nets in this deal is simple. They have a glut of wings following the trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as they added Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Crowder and Dorian Finney-Smith. They already had Royce O’Neale and Joe Harris in the mix as well. This deal also helps them further recoup the draft capital they have spent in recent seasons.

For Indiana, they get a free look at Nwora, who has had some nice performances with the Bucks during his career. The two second-round picks are a nice addition to take him off Milwaukee’s hands as well.
