Why The Houston Rockets Do The Deal
The Rockets find themselves in an interesting position.
In the eyes of some, it’s a dismal one. To be sure, the Rockets look likely to be the worst team in the NBA for a third consecutive season. That would be an NBA record.
On the other hand, the Rockets should have optimal lottery odds in one of the best drafts in recent memory. They also play in one of the league’s bigger markets, and they’ll have the most cap space of any team in the league this summer.
On the other hand, they’re not likely to attract top free agents in their current state. With that in mind, why not use that cap space on a quality player like Williams?
