There is no doubt that it is debatable. As opposed to the Memphis Grizzlies, the New York Knicks are not going to be contenders after adding Anunoby to their team.
If the team went on to win the NBA championship as a result of this deal, it would be the biggest shock in history.
However, on the other hand, it would make them a significantly more competitive team as a result. It would not be out of the question to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
That might be an acceptable standard as a ceiling for a team that has suffered for as long as the Knicks have.

At the same time, the Toronto Raptors are effectively doing this deal for Quickley and the draft capital they will receive. A young guard with a shot-creating ability like his could be a great addition to their team.
Rose’s expiring contract and the possibility of taking a flier on Reddish has its own value, but is there another team who may be able to match that value?
