Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal

The Heat are reuniting with two players they used to roster in Dragic and Jones Jr. They’ll both be nice additions. Dragic is a solid backup point guard, whereas Jones Jr. is an athletic rotation wing. 

Of course, they’re not explicitly trading for either of them. They’re convenient salary matchers who happen to be reasonable acquisitions. They’re trading for Zach LaVine. 

LaVine may not be in a different league from Herro. He is better. His superior athleticism allows him to create his own shot more easily.
