The Eastern Conference has become a challenging set of teams to compete against. The Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat are experiencing this firsthand this NBA season.

However, Western Conference supremacy may be dying in the NBA. For a long time, it was assumed. On an annual basis, the Western Conference featured the league’s best teams. Whichever team emerged from the Eastern Conference was likely food in the NBA Finals.

Again, this season, that doesn’t appear to be the case. The East is stacked. Teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers all have legitimate title hopes.

Perhaps that’s why talented teams like the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls are struggling to compete. Still, the Heat are least in the playoff hunt – the Bulls do not look likely to join them.

The Bulls may want to work toward rebuilding, while the Heat need to make a bold move while they still have Jimmy Butler performing at a high level.

Should the two sides make a trade with that in mind?
