It’s been heavily rumored that the Nets are looking to improve their frontcourt depth. 

Typically, they’re linked to bigger names than Toppin. Many speculate that the Nets could target John Collins or Myles Turner in a trade.

Sure, but at the same time, they’ll have to part with one of the few first-round picks they own in order to do so. 

By contrast, Toppin shouldn’t cost a first-rounder. If he does, the Nets should walk away from the bargaining table. On the other hand, they ought to be interested in him at this price.
