Why The Boston Celtics Do The Deal
Some will look at the Celtics’ roster and say they don’t need Poeltl. Adding him would be overkill.
Fair enough. When healthy, Robert Williams III is one of the best defensive big men in the NBA. Al Horford is no slouch on that end either. How many defensive bigs do the Celtics need?
Well, to run their current defensive scheme, at least two. Meanwhile, Williams III is routinely injured -Poelel is as much an instance policy as anything else.
He’s more than that, too. In fact, Horford’s ability to space the floor means that he can co-exist with either Poeltl or Williams.
