Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

It is. When the Lakers signed Patrick Beverley, it made good sense – in theory. Unfortunately, that theory depended on Beverley remaining a good three-point shooter. 

After all, the Lakers are desperate for spacing. Any spacing. That was true this summer, and it’s just as accurate at this point in the season. 

Robinson provides it. He doesn’t provide much else. That’s fine. The Lakers need spacing far more than they need anything else, anyway. 

There isn’t much reason to get too concerned about the future salary owed to Robinson, considering the short-term is what matters most for the Lakers. They are adding a high-level shooter in this scenario without having to give up any draft picks.
