1. DeMar DeRozan, Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls looked good last season in the early going as they were atop the Eastern Conference. However, injuries have derailed that success. Lonzo Ball has been sidelined since January because of a knee issue and the team has not looked the same. That will lead to some tough decisions to be made.
Chicago is clearly not among the contenders in the Eastern Conference, which can lead to some major changes. One player that could be on the move in the coming weeks is DeMar DeRozan.
He is having another excellent season as a go-to option for the Bulls. Alas, there is some tension building between him and Zach LaVine on the court, as their skill sets overlap and they are sometimes stepping on each other’s toes. Eligible for an extension this offseason, the Bulls have a big decision to make.
If the front office doesn’t believe they will retain him long-term, trading him when his value is this high makes the most sense. Chicago would be able to get a lot more in a trade package for him right now than it cost to acquire him during the 2021 offseason from the San Antonio Spurs in a sign-and-trade deal.

Short on long-term assets and building blocks, moving DeMar DeRozan would provide the Chicago Bulls a chance at a soft reset to restock the cupboard while having enough pieces to remain competitive this season.
