2. Julius Randle, New York Knicks
The last few seasons have been a roller coaster ride for Julius Randle. He has experienced everything that comes along with playing for the New York Knicks from the highest highs to the lowest lows.
In his first season, Randle looked to press, trying to show that he was worth the contract that he signed. In Year 2, he did a total 180-degree turn, earning an All-Star and All-NBA nomination in addition to winning the Most Improved Player of the Year Award, leading the Knicks to the No. 4 seed.
Last season it was a step backward as Randle got into it with the fans and played a lackadaisical brand of basketball that left a lot to be desired after signing a contract extension. This season, he is having another high, playing at an All-Star level with an all-around, efficient performance.
Randle’s value will likely never be higher. The Knicks want to be as competitive as possible, but for the long-term benefit of the team, they should at least listen to calls on Randle or send out some feelers.
If they can combine Randle with some of the other contracts they are looking to offset while getting back premium assets, it is something Leon Rose and company have to consider pulling the trigger on seriously.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Julius Randle & New York Knicks Updates
The New York Knicks are a team on the cusp of being outside the Play-In Tournament as the No. 6 seed, but their ceiling is capped by the current roster. Julius Randle is the only rotation player over the age of 26, so the future is bright and the ceiling could be raised with the right roster move.
