Nobody likes giving up on a young NBA player. Sometimes, it’s necessary. 

After all, NBA history is littered with former lottery picks who simply didn’t meet their potential. It happens. After a player is in the league for long enough, it can be time to call it quits. 

We’re not saying anybody should give up on Cam Reddish. At the same time, his NBA career has been a struggle so far. If he doesn’t turn it around soon, he probably never will. 

By contrast, Payton Pritchard has etched out a solid career as a reserve guard.

On the other hand, it’s hard to see him making further improvements. Reddish has considerably more upside.
