Why The Boston Celtics Do The Deal 

The Celtics are in very good shape. They don’t really need to do anything this season. 

Still, a look at this roster tells us that the Cs could perhaps use a defensive-minded 3. They’re stacked with quality defensive bigs and guards, but a little light at that position. 

Of course, Reddish hasn’t actually been a great defensive wing in the NBA. Still, he’s got the physical tools to be one in theory. The Celtics are also getting him at a very low cost here. 

After all, between Malcolm Brogdon, Marcus Smart, and Derrick White, their guard rotation is fairly set. The Celtics don’t rely much on Pritchard.
