Charlotte Hornets Receive: F/C Christian Wood, C Dwight Powell, 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL) 

The Mavericks could still get real value for Wood – or at least, for his contract. They’d just have to attach draft capital to it in order to do so. 

It should be worth their time. The Mavericks are racing the clock – they need to show Luka Doncic that they can assemble a contender. They should spend their draft picks now – if he demands a trade down the line, they’ll get them back. 

With that in mind – Rozier feels like the perfect co-star for Doncic. He’s an aggressive scorer that a defense has to constantly account for.

More importantly, he’s a strong floor spacer who will complement Doncic when he’s got the rock.

As for the Hornets – this season is probably lost anyway. They might as well tank ahead of what looks like a historic draft. They don’t really have a lot of basketball reasons to make this deal –

They simply don’t want to make the mistake of missing out on the incoming talent.
