Again, this deal has the Mavericks capitalizing on desperation. This time, it’s not desperation to clear a contract. 

The Brooklyn Nets should be desperate to add a stretch big man to this roster. Ben Simmons needs one in order to be maximized. Say what you will about Wood, but he’s one of the best floor-spacing big men in basketball. 

Meanwhile, Joe Harris is an elite spacer at any position. He’d be a valuable addition to this roster. His defense is passable, and his elite movement shooting would open up the floor for Doncic on a nightly basis. 

This is one way Dallas could go. On the other hand, it may not be enough.
