Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
This is a risk for the Lakers. It just happens to be a minimal one.
After all, White has objectively been a disappointment throughout his career in Chicago so far. There’s no real reason to believe he’ll be better elsewhere. At the same time, at this price, the Lakers might as well take a leap of faith.
Jones isn’t in this rotation at all. Nunn is, but he’s not exactly a significant part of it. Meanwhile, if White does start to realize the potential that led the Bulls to select him in the lottery, this could be a steal for L.A.
Let it be said that White’s potential does still exist. This is a 6’5 point guard with some crafty offensive moves, and he’s only 22.
